MOLD FOAMING
We have developed high-pressure polyurethane foam injection capabilities with which we can make 3-dimensional parts of complex shapes, which cannot be made by linear or contour cutting.
The applications for which we inject parts are multiple, especially for automotive, furniture, sports and recreation, and other industries, where the complexity of the shapes of the parts is higher than in any other fields.
Having extended knowledge and experience in working with this technology, we can be your partner for serial mass production of molded parts, development of new projects, execution of tests and prototypes for development of new products.
PROCESS
The foam molding process consists of mixing two chemical components together giving a chemical reaction after dispensing into a mold. The material increases in size until the mold vacuum is completed. When the foam has hardened and cured, it is separated from the mold and the process is started again. Materials are then controlled for density, hardness, tear strength, fire retardant properties, UV stability.
TOOLING
The key points of the PU molding are the tool design, filling points, material control, trimming and storage of finished products before inspection and dispatch to the customer. Generally, we work with the customers’ tooling, when the project and tool already exist. In case of new long-term projects, the tooling should be developed based on the samples or the existing drawings.
APPLICATIONS
Where the shape of the part is 3-dimensional and cannot be obtained by combining the movements of horizontal, vertical and 2-dimensional contour cutting, foam injection is chosen, using a mold that has the negative shape of the part. The applications are multiple and target the automotive industry, packaging, sports and recreation, upholstered furniture. The injection process allows the foam to be combined with different inserts or other harder materials, to give a resistance structure to the part or any other functionality.
