A NEW FOAM-CUTTING MACHINE OPTIMIZES FURNITURE PRODUCTION IN WESTERN ROMANIA

A new machine, with European funds, arrived in Romania, as part of a development investment in a bed and sofa production factory, located in the west region of Romania. If until yesterday, the sponge needed in the production of beds was brought in cut parts from third parties, with the increase in the company's business volume, the need for optimization appeared by purchasing a horizontal cutting machine. 

The client's application is cutting of polyurethane foams with densities up to 80 kg/m3 and obtaining sponge sheets with thicknesses from 2 to 300 mm. In order to meet the requirements of the investment project, we choosed a horizontal cutting machine, with 4 flywheels and with a band knife in a horizontal position. 

The machine we have chosen is ECMT-105, a machine that is specially designed for cutting and slicing of flexible foam and open-cell PVC foam. The slices already cut off shouldn’t be taken away after each cutting. The Vacuum System can also be chosen as an option for the model ECMT-104-105, and it is good for cutting high thickness sheets, used in the manufacture of mattresses. 

In the same category of horizontal cutting machines, ECMT-104C is specially designed for being used to cut into slices medical/makeup foam blocks. It is equipped with Vacuum System for higher precision operation. ECMT-135-136 models come with a conveyor belt and heavy-duty vacuum system for ensuring a high precision cutting of foam slices from blocks. 


The cutting angle of the knife can be adjusted from 0° to 50° for all models. The press roller insures better stability of the block during cutting. The machine is used for high productive horizontal cutting of foam sheets in industries like: mattresses, upholstery furniture, foam converting etc.
